Pedestrian Navigation

  • Provides position and orientation information to phone/tablet apps
  • Features heuristics to permit incidental hand movements
  • Adapts and overcomes magnetic distortions
  • Works with smart sensors to offload app processor

Navigation systems using GPS references cannot function where GPS satellites are not accessible.  Conventional inertial navigation systems often cannot distinguish between movements of a handheld device and travel of the user and can therefore accumulate very large errors due to incidental hand movements over just a short period of  time.

Sensor Platforms applies its understanding of human bio-mechanics and motion heuristics to distinguish between the user’s trajectory and extraneous movements.  Its algorithm continuously adapts to changing real world environments.
