Remote Interface

  • Supports intuitive pointing and gestures
  • Extends smart phone like touch interface over the air
  • Enables long battery life: 1 year on two AA batteries
  • Eliminates line of sight limitation

Convergence of digital media and web contents presents consumers with a wide array of entertainment options. However, users find it inconvenient to manage and navigate these options using only arrow keys on a remote control.

Our FreeMotion™ technology interprets movements of a remote input device so that users can point and gesture naturally in order to interact with feature-rich interfaces. Applications designed for smart phones and tablets can work without modification on a television using FreeMotion technology to enable an “air touch” interface in place of the touch screen.

Adopting FreeMotion technology in a remote control design is straightforward and inexpensive. Designers need only add low cost, commodity sensors to any RF remote control design and incorporate the source code and drivers provided by Sensor Platforms.
