Bruce Bauer, Senior Managing Director, Newbury Ventures

Bruce is a founder of Newbury and has spent more than 20 years in the venture capital industry. At Newbury, Bruce focuses on investments in security, imaging, sensors, IT and enterprise software products and services. Bruce led the firm’s investments in, and has served on the Boards of Sentillion, Okena (acquired by Cisco), MessageGate, PacificEdge (acquired by Serena), Hydrocision, PS’Soft and Sensor Platforms.

 

Dan Brown, CEO, Sensor Platforms

Dan was most recently a Technology Partner at Arrowpath Ventures. He was also the CEO of OnSite Systems where he successfully doubled revenue prior to the company’s acquisition. Before that, he served in business development, marketing and executive product management at Centerpoint Broadband Technologies and Mayan Networks. Dan also led the development of network infrastructure and customer solutions as Vice President of Engineering at FirstWorld Communications, a Denver-based CLEC. He has held other high level and technical management positions at 3Com and British Telecom.

 

Charles P. Carinalli, Principal, Carinalli Ventures

Mr. Carinalli has been a Principal of Carinalli Ventures since 2002 and has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. From 1999 to 2001, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Adaptive Silicon, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company. From 1996 to 1999 he was President and CEO of Wavespan Corporation. He previously worked in several management and executive positions with National Semiconductor Corporation from 1970 to 1996, including as senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer from 1992 to 1996. Mr. Carinalli is a director of Atmel Corporation, Extreme Networks, Inc. and Fairchild Semiconductor.

 

Clay Johnson, CEO, CPU Tech

Clay Johnson is currently the CEO and board member at CPU Tech which produces secure processors that protect software and systems from reverse engineering. Clay has more than 25 years of experience in semiconductors and development tools. He spent more than sixteen years at Xilinx where his last position was VP/GM of the General Products Division.

 

Morgan Rodd, Managing Partner, Arrowpath Venture Capital

Morgan is a Managing Partner of Arrowpath Venture Capital and brings over 15 years of experience with information technology companies as an investor, investment banker and finance executive. He focuses primarily on investments in application and infrastructure software, with an emphasis on security, data management and data integration. Morgan currently serves on the Board, or is a Board observer, of Actional, Gamma Technologies, Immunix (acquired by Novell), Saqqara, and Siperian. Prior investments and Board seats include NetSec (acquired by MCI), Security Focus (acquired by Symantec) and Sanera Systems (acquired by McData).

 

Somu Subramaniam, Managing Partner, New Science Ventures

Mr. Somu Subramaniam founded New Science Ventures, LLC in 2004 and serves as its Managing Partner. Mr. Subramaniam was a Director at McKinsey & Co. and at various times led their strategy practice, technology practice, and healthcare practice. While at McKinsey, he advised leading multinational companies in the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, photonics, software, and semiconductor industries. Mr. Subramaniam has been a Director of Celleration Inc. since November 1, 2005, icad Inc., since 2010 and TherOx, Inc. since July 19, 2005. He has been a Director of TigerText, Inc. since March 2012. He serves as a Director of Vaultive, Inc. He serves on the Boards of Achronix Semiconductor, RF Arrays, BioVex, Receptor Biologix, and Resolve Therapeutics, LLC. Mr. Subramaniam is a Board Observer at Light Sciences Oncology, Xoft, and BioProcessors. He served as a Director of Afferent Corp. since October 27, 2004. Mr. Subramaniam received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology. He is Director of Directed Sensing Inc.
